Sinclair Laird school is equipped with a team of service personnel and health professionals provided by the school in conjunction with the English Montreal School Board and the Centres de santé et de services sociaux (CSSS).
Caretaking Services
School caretakers and maintenance workers are responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of the school building and grounds, providing a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
For electrical or plumbing work, a specialist is provided to the school by the school board.
Computer Lab Technician
The computer lab technician assists teachers and students with computer related activities and programs, and ensures that students respect safety and privacy rules when in the computer lab.
Library Services
School libraries enrich and support the educational program of the school and provide a wide range of materials, with diversity of appeal and different points of view.
The school librarian (Documentation Technician) provides assistance to students and staff in regard to research and use of the library facilities, and manages the classification system, document conservation and disposal.
Hot Lunch & Snack Program
Sinclair Laird participates in the Hot Lunch Program in conjunction with the Generations Foundation. Students also receive a healthy free snack and milk every day following the EMSB Nutrition Policy.
Student Supervision
The school provides supervision on school grounds during lunchtime and recess to ensure that rules are observed and that students are safe.
Special Education Technician
Special Education Technicians and Child Care Workers apply techniques and methods in keeping with an individualized education plan intended for special needs students. Interactions include building relationships and role-modelling, which are key to successful learning and overall student well-being.
Computer Technician
The computer technician (ITS Field Services Technician) installs new computer applications, troubleshoots network connectivity, repairs complicated breakdowns and assists analysts in the development and implementation of new computer systems within the school.
Nutritional Education
Dietitians travel from school to school visiting classrooms and cafeterias to talk to students about eating nutritious foods and being healthy. The EMSB in-class programs aim to teach students how to make healthy food choices and instill the values of eating nutritious foods and living a healthy lifestyle.
Occupational Therapy
The occupational therapist works with parents and/or caregivers and others to assess if a student has difficulties with practical and social skills and recommends appropriate strategies in order to maximise the student's potential when carrying out activities of daily living.
Psychological Evaluation and Help
A child psychologist is assigned to the school on a 1 day per week basis. His/her principal task is to facilitate the adaptive and developmental functions of the child within the school context and beyond.
Speech and Language Therapy
A speech and language pathologist is available to evaluate, diagnose and recommend strategies for students with speech and language delays and disorders.
Spiritual and Community Involvement
The spiritual care and guidance and community involvement animator provides services to elementary and secondary students of all faiths and cultural traditions. Each community animator is responsible for the spiritual and communal development of students in a cluster of schools within a region.
The role of the animator is to conduct activities to help students gain a deeper understanding of particular questions, solve problems and build links between their spiritual life and community.
He or she also provides information and guidance to staff, parents, and students with respect to religious beliefs and needs in terms of spiritual life and community involvement.
School Bus Transportation
If your home is beyond walking distance to school, your child may be eligible for school bus transportation. Eligibility is determined by grade level by the EMSB Transportation Department, and not by the school administration directly.
The School Board's Transportation Department is responsible for the daily operations of the school bus system.

The school nurse is available to provide consultation, screening, prevention, vaccinations, referral and health/vaccination records for students.
Social Worker
A social worker is assigned to the school on a part-time basis. The role of the social worker is particularly important in the area of family intervention or counselling.
Dental Hygienist
The dental hygienist provides information, consultation and prevention information pertaining to dental care and hygiene for students.
